That plus the super variants of the 5080 and 5070 are heavily rumored to be released before the end of the year.

I heard that there's going to be pretty huge price cuts on the 50-Series because of overstocks, is this the beginning of that?

I know, I actually ordered the PNY 5080 deal from Best Buy but cancelled it and decided to wait after seeing so much available stock and discounts at Best Buy, Micro Center, Newegg and Amazon.

I don't think it's that big an upgrade. I am upgrading from a 3080 mostly because of RAM. if you don't play modded games then the gains aren't that big for you.

It's hot a substantial upgrade for your money so I wouldn't. You're not getting any VRAM improvements and that's the bulk of the value in upgrading today.

Mostly depends on the resolution you play at. ~30% FPS increase for $1,000 is an awful value proposition in my book.

Rule of thumb is if you're enjoying your games at your current quality it's not worth an upgrade.

I'd wait at least 2 more generations. Skip RTX 60 unless there's a massive paradigm shift in gaming (there won't be). Upgrade when RTX 70 comes out. There's nothing coming out for quite some time that your card won't be able to handle.

If the primary users of Nvidia cards (the AI companies) are to be believed, AGI will be here by the time Nvidia releases the RTX 7000.

Sure, a heavily inflated MSRP, in a super cut down 80 tier card compared to any 80 tier in history

I did the same with the PNY 5070 Ti. Looking forward to learning more about what's coming out next.

Triple A titles are now getting to the point of using a ton of VRAM so its not just for modded games anymore. 16gb should still be plenty for anything really though

only if you can sell that card first and net 700 or so. market is softening so what you can get from your existing card directly impacts how good of deal this is

How is that "SFF" anything? It's not low profile...

Two possible answers.

If you can sell your 4070ti super for a good price immediately to recoup costs, then yes you should probably upgrade. Its not a massive uplift in performance but you can recoup a large portion of your cost. Took a quick look at sold items on the used market and seems to be in the range of $650-$750 depending on your exact 4070ti super model.

If you don't really have a fast way to sell your old card then no. Always wait at least two generations for an upgrade. So maybe the 6070ti super? The 4070ti still has access to DLSS 4 and in the worst case scenario you can still use frame gen to get a tiny bit more performance.
