Not a great price, here's pretty much that same one for $63.50 (after coupon):

That being said these are pretty awesome, I put one on my FJR1300. One note, you would think that a 7" screen would be similar in size to my 6.8" cell phone. And you would be wrong. This one is HUGE.

Ah, this is a good idea. I always worry about the vibration damaging my phone camera

Thanks! I had a steering stem RAM Mount ball already, the attachments included with the screen attach to that perfectly. Makes it pretty easy to take off if you're parking at the airport for example.

Whoa! That does take up a lot of real estate!

If I were to do it again I would go for a 5" model - just so it would be more usable on my CBR. But luckily the FJR is so big that the 7" still fits okay.

Love these, installed two comparable units at this point. No worries about vibrations from ram mounts and no need to use a specific case like quad locks.

Video of my current install including boot up and connection time, touch responsiveness. Different unit but they're all pretty comparable.

Bought one yesterday, because I don't really trust any mount to hold my phone securely, $63 is cheap insurance, and the reviews are good.

TU to OP and rep to OP and poster for steering me to this. I probably won't use it often, but it will be nice for longer trips.

Thanks!

Bought something similar that also included front/rear cameras and TPMS. Originally mounted it on the left hand grip on my 24 Ninja 1000SX. But that got annoying as it made it difficult accessing some controls. Moved it to a stem mount, but the thing has a weird rear making it difficult to actually mount. I've essentially got a ball clip holding onto a piece of plastic on the back of the screen. Are there accessories for mounting such screens on a stem?

These look alright when powered on inside a garage but the screen becomes nearly invisible in direct sunlight. If you ride and need to navigate at night, this might help. But too me, its just gaudy clutter. Ive never had problems navigating with any cell phone mounted to my handlebars on any of my motorcycles. And I can see the screen in direct sunlight.

The reason why I went this route is most modern cell phones have an optical zoom camera lens. The vibrations of a motorcycle engine and road can damage these lenses pretty easy. Quad Lock and the like sell vibration resistant mounts, but I figured this would be even better as I could just leave the phone in my pocket.

As always, your mileage may vary. If it works for you, rock on. Keep the rubber side down! Cool

Exactly! I use my camera and apple and others have already recommended: do not, repeat. Do not put your phone on a motorcycle handlebar.

Ive read the same thing but its never happened to me, nor has it happened to anyone in our cycle club of 700 others. Its a topic thats brought up from time to time and shot down just as quickly.

Indeed, keep the rubber on the road! Everything else in insignificant.

Agreed. In addition, I've been using one of the freebie Moto's from here for a while (as it makes a cheap nav being you can download your area offline in things like Google Maps) and have never had an issue with the camera.

Great idea! I sometimes also use an older Moto for nav during long trips. I did a factory reset and didnt put any personal info on it, then leave it on the bike. I guess nobody wants it cuz its been across the US and Canada at least twice so far. I use Ram mount parts, so a thief is more likley to unscrew it, rather than tear it off the bike and damage my ride. Takes less than 30 seconds to move it from bike to bike... 7 in my stable.

Plenty of others have had their pricey phones ripped form quad locks and other secure mounts, damaging expensive bikes and putting a damper on good times. Another reason I do this is to make my phone the most likely easy target in a line of expensive parked bikes. Im usually the Captain and try to make our trips as painless as possible. When a bike gets damaged, it sends a ripple through the pack and people concentrate on the incident, rather than paying attention to the road ahead. Theft boils peoples blood. If my phone disappears, I wont tell others and use my regular phone and spare mount. Safety must always be the #1 priority, and everyone must remain relaxed, content and focused to remain vigilant.
