It's a good price for both components, but most people only need one of them, and the 5700X for $120-125 is better than the RAM for $45-50. LGA1700 prices are close to rock bottom as well, so it's unwise to spend too much on AM4 hardware. On a tight budget, I might pair this with a refurb board from Woot and the 10% off promo.

Pretty sick deal for anyone looking for amazing power efficiency and a quiet machine. I did a mATX quiet, low power PC build with 5700x AM4 on a tight budget. Great little machine and doesn't act as a space heater in summer (looking at you, Intel).

It's not a good deal at all. It needs to be much lower than $150, like $120-$130.

How does it beat this?

That's a good deal. The 5700x is behind, although close to the same performance. Some people don't like the high power draw of Intel chips or a really large case and motherboard. This is a great alternative for a cool, quiet machine.

Dang, I know a guy who is still using his B350 motherboard and his original Ryzen 5 1600 with a lonely single stick of 8GB of RAM (I know, I know). I should see if his motherboard supports the 5xxx series with the latest bios - most of them do. This would be tremendous upgrade and, should he replace the GTX 1060 he has with even something as modest as a 3060, he could do quite well.
