You don't use this with a soundbar. Soundbars power themselves and don't need receivers.

Dang, I just bought it for $649 not long ago. Do you think they can do a price adjustment?

Can't hurt to ask, but more importantly, how do you like it?

That's a great price. The receiver is solid if you don't need pre outs. Getting a bit older but still with Dirac (which folks rave about - but doesn't make much difference to be honest) it's a very solid value proposition.

I didn't get a chance to test it yet, waiting for the speakers to arrive! But for the price, with Dirac Live included, its hard to beat the value!

Perfect. Had my eye on this for a bit. Any suggestions for a good deal on speakers for a 5.1.4 setup?

I paid $699 in May. Ugh. $529 for this is easily the best Atmos 9.2 receiver value there is.

Welllll. Had my mind set on a Denon X3800H(+dirac upgrade) for an upgrade to my 2016 Denon S920W, but guess now i'm trying out Onkyo. Just saved myself hopefully about $750.

Thanks OP! My journey into Home Theater began this month. I had my eye on this since the beginning, but thought it was a little pricey. I have purchased the following: Onkyo TX-NR6100 ($500 - World Wide Stereo), Denon AVR-S760H ($380 - Costco), and Sony STR-AN1000 ($600 - Amazon). All unopened. All returned. I was looking for the best "bang for buck" deal, period. This definitely checks that box. Moreover, this will pair well with my Monolith by Monoprice THX Certified Speakers. Thanks again OP!

Might want to keep this one sealed and ready to return too because a better deal will come along. They always do.

Thanks namlook! Will do. I bet you're right as Black Friday hasn't even started yet. Haaa. This is exciting. And if nothing better comes along, I'm pretty damn happy about this purchase.

I used Denon for years, then got this model Onkyo. Sad to say, it stopped working after 11 months. Then they made us take to repair shop that couldn't get parts for over six weeks. Finally, they sent us a refurbished that is not working.

Truly hope you have better luck than us! Hopefully they make it right, been dealing with this since September!

Years ago I built a 7.1 system with an Onkyo receiver. I LOVED IT, but at the time, there were very few movie titles which were native 7.1. I've been out of the home entertainment game for about 10 years now... if I build a 9.2 or some derivation with ATMOS, is there a fairly large library of new streaming releases which have the native sound to push it?
