Anyone have an inexpensive fan recommendation to go with this CPU. Preferably from Newegg.

The lowest price that will provide adequate cooling to eliminate thermal throttling while maxing out the processor while video encoding. Hopefully $20-$30 gets the job done. I assume at 65W, liquid cooling is not necessary.

Listed on Ebay I see AMD Am4 Wraith Stealth heatsink coolers new for around $13 shipped. Would this be adequate to eliminate thermal throttling?

I use this with a 3700x and it works very well. Much quieter than the Wraith Spire it came with.

Thanks for the suggestion. I forgot to mention the motherboard is a mini-ATX and a small form factor case. I'm not sure the vertical mount fans will fit into the case. If a vertical fan is necessary that's OK, I'll just have to purchase a different case.

Depends on case. Nr200p can take 120mm height coolers. You'd need to find out your case clearance

You might be fine as long as your case has good air flow

There are some good budget tower coolers for $20 like the Deep Cool Gammaxx and the Thermal right assassin. Either of those will be more than adequate for a 65w AM4 chip like the 5700x. If you're not overclocking and have a case with decent airflow, you won't have to worry about thermal throttling.

I bought one of these with a used 5700X I bought a couple of weeks ago and it gets the job done on a budget. My highest temps paired with a GTX1080 with both under full load are right around 70C. Might seem hot to some people, but it works on a budget and is well within limits.

I should also note -- I tried using the 5700X with the cooler from the previous 1500X I had. I'm not sure which one it was - wraith stealth or spire or whatever it was, did not do the job well. I got around 90C under full load. The upgrade was awesome btw.

Thanks. I was just mentioning on another AMD CPU deal thread that I'm waiting for the price of a 5700X to go down as it's my next upgrade from my 2600X, not just for the added cores and performance but to enable the PCIe 4.0 on my setup. No rush and I can wait a while longer as I'm hoping that it dips below $150, but this is a step in the right direction. I'll just reuse the 2600X's Spire cooler on it. It has a lower TDP of 65W vs the 2600X's 95W so it should be fine.
