This is cheap because it's not great for many users (no built in usb) and no hub powered ports. This is basically the wrong device for most people. The photos shows a bunch of flash drives, but they would all go slower without hub powered ports.

These are great if you have things you use often but don't want to have connected all the time. I had a USB 2.0 version from these guys and I used to use it for my bluetooth adapter and headset dongle. I know there was a version that came with a power adapter so you could use external HDDs as well, I think that would be the best use-case for this kind of hub, that way you can 'disconnect' an external drive when not in use but still have it plugged in for quick and easy access.

I got this earlier in the year on another deal post and it is good for expanding the number of ports you have access to, but I also don't care about the performance of them. I use it to slow charge USB devices that I can just sit on my desk for a day or 2 and not really need. If you care about high speed - this is probably not for you.

Purchased this a few years back to manage multiple externals that had separate power bricks. Haven't had any issues yet.

Garbage, don't buy it. I bought one and it broke within a week.

Bad design. Layout of ports restricts most thumb drives to use just two of the ports.

Bought it previously and sent it packing.

As others have mentioned, this hub is pretty disappointing.

I was planning on using the powered version of it to expand my Raspberry Pi, but any drive I use is being detected as USB 2.0.

Also, there's light bleed between the LED switches and through the USB ports, so you can't reliably tell which one is turned on just by glancing. The button being raised or lowered is a better indicator.

Bought this last time it was on slick deals, I wouldn't buy it again, better to spend little more and buy something with actual build quality.

Coincidentally, I just bought this same product for less (8.95), without coupon yesterday (and same day delivery): https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/...asin_title
