It's a excellent AVR. Very comparable to the RZ50. Usually Adorama will run the RZ50 in a few days after this model. The RZ50 has Dirac.

I'm leaning toward the rz30. I'd rather pay the $300 down the road for Dirac bass control, rather than than want it and look at new receivers

Are receivers finally reliable with actually supporting 8k60, 4k120 HDR inputs, etc?

The Integra DRX 3.4 and Onkyo TX-RZ50 are closely related 9.2-channel 8K network AV receivers, with the main differences being power output, channel pre-outs, and included features like Dirac Live base management. While both are excellent choices, the RZ50 offers 120W per channel and 11-channel processing/pre-outs, while the DRX 3.4 provides 100W per channel and 9-channel pre-outs, though both include Dirac Live room correction.
Key Differences and Similarities:
Power and Channels:
The Onkyo RZ50 boasts 120 watts per channel, compared to the Integra DRX 3.4's 100 watts per channel. The RZ50 also offers 11-channel processing and pre-outs, while the DRX 3.4 has 9-channel pre-outs.
Room Correction:
Both receivers come with Dirac Live room correction, a significant advantage over many competitors. However, the RZ50 has the option to purchase Dirac Live base management for an additional cost, which is not available for the DRX 3.4.
Internal Components and Build:
Integra is known for using hand-selected, top-quality internal components, potentially offering a slight advantage over the equivalent Onkyo and Pioneer models in terms of build quality.
Subwoofer Outputs:
Both the DRX 3.4 and RZ50, along with many other models in their respective lines, have internally split subwoofer outputs, meaning only one channel of processing for the subwoofer, unlike higher-end models like the DRX-8.4 or RZ70 which offer independent subwoofer channels.

I've had the Integra for several months and it's been great. Huge upgrade in terms of reliability and sound quality over the Onkyo (not the RZ50) I had previously. The Onkyo had tons of issues with audio dropping out when switching inputs.

No, despite what overmanufactured marketing they put out. Most day to day devices can barely legitimately support 4k/30

Having experience with both I think the RZ30 is the better overall choice imo.

For the extra cost you get a much newer/updated AVR, independent sub outs, access to Dirac's subwoofer/bass RC(Bass Control) & less likely to need external power.

Im looking to purchase my first receiver in a long time. Currently just using a switch for my series x, 4k uhd bluray player, and a PC. I'm seeing people talk about the rz30 but It looks to be around double the price of this. Is it really worth that much more?

Depends how much you value the extras(newer, independent sub outs,DLBC).
If you don't, this is a pretty good price for this.

Current sale price for it is $899, the same seller has had it prior to $750.
