FWIW:

Onkyo, which makes Integra, declared bankruptcy in 2022. They are now owned by Sharp and VOXX (formerly Audiovox). I don't know if this has any effect on the quality of their equipment, though.

I just picked up a Pioneer lx305 off the adorama eBay page for $483 (open box). Can someone tell me what I get for $200 more here?

Ok. The pre outs mean nothing to me as I plan to stick to 5.2.4.

Pre-outs are for external amplifiers. Especially important if you're connecting to 4 ohm speakers!

How does one connect multiple external amps to a receiver that does not have pre-outs on it? I am new to this and figured I'd ask. Thanks

There aren't many differences, the biggest would be pre outs for adding external amps & if I remember correctly no global crossovers.

Often people never use pre outs, they get them just in case and people often believe all crossovers at 80hz is best in my experience.

Here is a comparison of the two.

I believe the Pioneer models have global crossover settings, unlike the Integra/Onkyo models. You have to step up to the 805 for independent crossover settings.

Isn't that exactly what I said? Previous posters noted this unit, I added the fact that it comes with DIRAC.
