I purchased the 5060 version with 14700hx earlier this month for $1200. Wondering if I should return it and spend 300 more for newer cpu and 5070. All other specs look the same

None of these are a perfect match for machines but should give you an idea
https://www.notebookcheck.net/ind...s[]=354341
GPU - 1st: 5060, 2nd: 5070
CPU - 3rd: 14900HX, 4th: 255HX
So only compare the gaming in 1 vs 2 and CPU in 3 v 4, keeping in mind at 1080p the CPU not matching on gaming will alter things a bit, but at least gives you a general idea
Personally I wouldn't bother, the 5070 seems to be about 9-16% in most games, except some of the more demanding ones like Assassin's Creed Shadows where it is more like 25-35%, can judge for yourself i that's important enough.
Haven't compared other benchmarks but it seems like the 14700hx is a bit faster than 255hx on the CPU side in fact, at least in multi core, a bit slower in single core.

Keep in mind, although it being a 5070, you'd already be behind the 8ball with only 8GB of video ram....

If the screen were 1080p, I'd still be in doubt...Lot to consider here...

My main issue is the battery life on the 14700hx version is not too great. Just web browsing and some videos get me about 3 hours which i feel is pretty low. I know the newer cpus are much more efficient but by how much is what I don't know. Looking at some reviews but have not found anyone that has done actual real world testing. Just states manufacture specs.

How are the speakers on this thing? And is this using the newer Gen brighter oled panel?
Trying to see to buy this or the Asus g16 5070ti for 2600.

For reference the 5070ti version has been getting down to this price (in Canada). So this is not a good price as generally Lenovo matches prices in both markets (after conversion). But maybe the tariffs are increasing US prices...

you dont get a dGPU for battery life lol

Intel 12th-14th Gen should get 4 hr - 5 hr on battery saver

Intel 15th Gen close to 6 hr

Intel 258v, 226v is 13-24 hr
