Though the build has more than a few components, it's not particularly difficult and the pieces are designed in such a way to ensure that you're not mixing up components along the way. The right and left sides, if you will, are distinct.
You have a lot of flexibility in how you position the TV relative to the bottom and top of the stand and I am completely satisfied with the outcome. I would note that the manual doesn't completely delve into how you can customize the vertical positioning of the VESA mounting holes, which I did to achieve a desired amount of clearance between the bottom of my screen and the top of the stand feet.

is it just takes because they made the feet not flat enough for a soundbar to sit on it?
