Was looking for a new catch-all credit card since Priceline rewards Visa is ending 7/2 and ran into this:
Bank of America Unlimited Cash rewards now offers 1.5% + 0.5% bonus, in addition as a preferred rewards member you get anywhere from 25% - 75% boost to the 1.5% non bonus portion only, max benefit is 3.12% on ANY purchase for a year.
Bank of America Customized Cash rewards now offers 3% + 3% bonus, in addition as a preferred rewards member you get anywhere from 25% - 75% boost to the 3% non bonus portion only, max benefit is 8.25% on a category purchase for a year.
Sign up bonus is spend $1000 in 90 days to get $200 back.
After a year the bonus cash back portions drop off but in my opinion still good cards after this.

For 3.12%, you need to have a $100k+ combined average daily balance in your BoA accounts, and even then, you get 3.12% ONLY in the first year.
From year 2 onwards, it's 2.62% max with a $100k+ combined average daily balance.

In the past, with $100K balance and preferred rewards, you got 5.25% on $2,500 in your selected category (frankly, the only one that matters), every quarter.
With the additional 3% included in this offer, it will be 8.25% per quarter. If managed correctly, you can do it for five quarters. Plus, the $200 sign-up bonus. That's a total bonus that rivals most any other.

I signed up for the unlimited rewards card, it beats anything else I could find for general purchases such as the Paypal card which gives back 3% but only through Paypal purchase portal. Plus unlimited rewards card isn't capped.
Wondering if they will let me get a second one and have this bonus for a year.
No

"For a year" is a blink of an eye.
I think there are only 2 2% forever catch all cards left: Citi and Wells Fargo.
Both have 3rd rate customer service phone reps. Still holding out for now.
