According to FDA regulations, for peanut butter to be labeled as peanut butter, it has to contain at least 90 percent peanuts.


Thats why this is a "spread" and not peanut butter. It has a lot more sugar.

OP, you may want to change the title. You're missing the 1 from the 16, so it seems like a tiny jar, even though the post does say 16oz.

I had a jar of skippy natural , non honey version in my fridge for awhile. Hadn't eaten regular peanut butter in maybe 2 years. This jar was refrigerated and unopened but expired in September 2020. Surprisingly it tastes fine and no issue other than a layer of solid white oil fat on top which I scraped off. Recently bought a 30 ounce jug of pbfit powder but texture wise it's not as good as regular PB

my wife only buys natural peanut butter where the ingredients are literally just peanuts and maybe oil (forget the second one but it's not a preservative). from experience you don't need to refrigerate it, but we go through one a week so not sure how long it would last

I'm gonna hold out for a Smuckers Natural deal, which skips the oil and relies on the natural peanut oils, but this is a good deal.
