This is a pretty solid deal! Comparable Ryzen cpu's will be slightly better at gaming however this is still a solid workhorse for everything! You can have a super solid 1440p full build for a little over $800 with BF6 (-$70 and StarWars Outlaws -$30!
All you need is a decent $60 case (Montech) gold 750w psu $60 (Corsair refurbished) a $50 1tb nvme drive 32gb kit of 6000 ddr5 $80 and a $230 Intel Arc B580 (eBay Acer refurbished)

People trashed into for these in the early reviews because the platform was buggy and because they didn't excel over the previous gen for gaming. But, they were way better on power consumption and still have great performance.

This is where the first few generations of Zen were.

AMD doesn't have anything close until you're spending twice the price. look at the cinebench and passmark scores. ultra competitive gaming where only one program is running and you're playing 240+fps maybe but most people are gpu bound with any decent chip. this is great multi tasker

I have this CPU and motherboard combo. It currently runs my UnRaid OS with multiple dockers and VMs, since March.

It's awesome! I got it undervolted for power efficiency and it idles around 60w with a LSI 24-sata HBA, 64GB of Ram, 4x nvme drives.... active 24/7 !!!

You are right. I have both 265k and 9950x, for multi core performance, 9950x is better, but not double, price is actually double. So if looking for a productivity platform, 265k should be a very good choice. By the way, ram latency is quite bad, same 6400 cl32 Hynix IC, 265k is obviously worse than 9950x.
