yup - game goes for $70 so that puts the CPU at just $80 if someone needs one.

I think the fact that they have to bundle a $70 game just to sell a CPU shows that AMD "fan boys" are right in their choice of CPU. It is a good deal though for sure.

I have been building computers for decades and also a AMD fanboy and know that AMD holds a slight advantage in gaming but when it comes to everything else I use my Intel rig with Arc B580. Streaming and Video editing are way better on Intel. This is a crazy deal. Better than buying my Ryzen 7 9700x with a free copy of Monster Hunter Wilds.

I wonder why we almost never see the non-K CPUs go on sale. I've been looking for the 65W TDP chips to go on sale like the i5-14500 and I don't think I've ever seen it dropped below it's SRP of $240.00.

And here we have a $320 SRP unit for $150.

Who cares about fans of products.

I used AMD K6 in the 90s when it was better than intel.
I used the 2500k i5 when it was THE ONLY gaming cpu.
I used the 4790k i7 to replace the 2500k.
Then I went back to AMD with the 5600x and 5700x3D.

The free game is a good ad on. Maybe some taxpayer shares in intel could also be a good ad on?

$10 cheaper than MC. Note that these don't come with any kind of cooler, so factor that in to the cost. That's pretty much the norm now unless you go bottom tier (i3) stuff. Factor in at least $20+ for a half decent cooler unless you plan on re-purposing one.

Honestly just get this and undervolt it and it will act like the non k version. If you need a burst of power for some tasks, this can do it unlike the non k version.

This is just the same deal as last week except with the cheaper version of Battlefield and without the Assassins Creed game.
The other deal was a mistake but I guess they got Intel to honor it for some and refunded like $30 for others.


I wish I would have gotten the other for $150 with the $100 Battlefield game and a $30 refund.

I thought about that, but is there an easy way to keep the undervolted settings in the BIOS whenever it is updated?

no manufacturer is releasing a half dozen firmware updates. 2, maybe 3 at the most and they are on to the next platform.
