Wouldn't the one with sound directly on the sensor be better? Planning on getting my first one, and debating if I should get this one with 0db or the one with alarm. Any advice on benefits of one over the other?

So these only detect leaks that cause water pooling near the leak?

I would rather have something that detects leaks in a wall, underground, etc.

Can't speak to this brand (we use govee), I'm just here to stress how important it is to not only have water alarms but also to have them _everywhere_ there is a water source in your home - refrigerator, under every sink, every toilet fish tank, water heater, washer/dryer, etc. Low upfront cost and can save you thousands. Great to have smart ones since they can tell you about leaks when you're out so you can get home ASAP or call a neighbor to help if you're out of town
100% right. I have a govee under each water source and a automated valve to turn off the house water. It obviously won't stop some flooding, but it will stop the worst case.
