"Granite" non-stick pans = PTFE pans with cosmetic/mineral fillers. They are not inherently safer, more durable, or higher-heat tolerant than good-quality PTFE/Teflon pans. The main difference is looks + marketing spin.

Are they worse though? Not being a smart@ss, honest question. The way you worded it sounds like they are equivalent. E.g. if one likes the look better there is nothing lost.

Don't waste your money in anything Carote these are basically generic crap with a "brand name". Don't risk your health trying to save some money. Source? I bought a set last year.

Google tells me this is pretty inaccurate. Nearly every maker has their own. Ex, Henckels uses aluminum. No idea about others.
