What are these even used for? I keep seeing these while looking for a traditional belt sander and I can think of much besides sculpture or something.

You can use it like a file but motorized. Saves a lot of time!

It can reach tight areas that a full size belt sander can't reach.

It's a tool I don't have?! Purchased.
I'll manufacture a reason to use it later...

People that have and use these, are they fairly specialized or have wide utility generally speaking?

Not sure if they are worth having over something like a die grinder for general use?

Just looking for perspective to justify I guess…

If you had this tool you wouldn't have to spin your own wheels. It could do it for you and much faster.

If you don't know what these are used for then you probably don't need it.

I thought the point of tools was to collect them and eventually find a project to justify the purchase after?

I've actually been looking for a bandfile! They are definitely a godsend for sanding compared to a 3" sanding pad.

Down the inside webbing in various hard to reach areas of the damn burke hulls I work on is where this would shine.

This would be a great fast way to not anger the welders.

I'm snagging it at this price, thanks!
