What are these even used for? I keep seeing these while looking for a traditional belt sander and I can think of much besides sculpture or something.

You can use it like a file but motorized. Saves a lot of time!

It can reach tight areas that a full size belt sander can't reach.

People that have and use these, are they fairly specialized or have wide utility generally speaking?

Not sure if they are worth having over something like a die grinder for genera use?

Just looking for perspective to justify I guess…
