This seems like a deal you cannot pass up if needing a unit of this size, around $500-1000 less compared to other brand names. I wonder if this one is good.

I wonder how many ft of hose, Garvee usually gives 13ft which is not enough. 454 refrigerant, which is crazy expensive right now, if you end up with a leak.

does anyone have any feedback on this brand vs say a Daikin/Mitsubishi? I understand that the pricing is significantly less, but if you are paying for the install, the equipment itself is not as significant to the overall cost. I've seen some people say they can buy two of these for the price of a more reputable brand, but if you have to pay for disposal and then install again, it becomes a bit of a different comparison.

The support for this company is non existent. they offer 3 ways to get a hold of them but no one answers the phone, calls you back if you leave a voicemail, the online chat is always offline and emails don't get returned. Good luck trying to get support if you have an issue under warranty.

There are videos on how to install mini splits on YouTube. You can do 120v versions that plug in, I did 240.and hardwired it in. Fairly simple to do. Mount everything. Connect the line sets. Pump them to negative pressure with vacuum pump ($80 on eBay). Wire it in or plug it in. Release refrigerant and boom, done.

+1. Have read horror stories, some here, across several Chinese brands sold direct (vs through Amazon or eBay).

Having noted that, if the efficiencies are valid and the equipment lasts for some years -- and there's an open floor layout to heat/cool -- this is a great deal.

I think the issues on a lot of these is people don't pressure up the lines before releasing the refrigerant. Not doing that greatly reduces the life of these as any contamination or water in the lines will damage it.

I installed this unit last week. It blows cold. It's hard to get the flare to vacuum down to 500 micron and requires a lot of tools. I am a computer scientist running a Ubiquiti WIFI network with 40 or so devices and I wasn't able to get the remote control app working. A lot of the instrutions were in Chinese and hard to find. It supports 2.4G only. Your average user has no prayer of ever using the app.

Believe you're right (negative pressure). Pulling the vacuum (and checking for hold) isn't difficult, but very necessary.
