For the moment, yes, but Nintendo raised the MSRP to $89.99 a few days ago. Target, Walmart, Amazon, etc. have all raised their prices accordingly. It remains to be seen whether Costco does the same.

I'm guessing this is the Groupon promotion from a few months back. If you purchased a new executive membership, you'd qualify for $100 off a $200 purchase

Look up on Youtube. There are many professional comparison videos. But in short,
  • joy stick is smoother,
  • buttons bigger and less clicky,
  • can wake up switch 2,
  • has two additional back buttons,
  • has a dedicated chat button.
Yes. Id also add that charging is faster on the S2 and the NFC chip is upgraded. Amiibos scan instantly and more easily than the S1. If youre using an amiibo emulator device, for games the S2 is significantly better for catching the weak nfc output from those devices

I've been using a PS5 controller for my PC emulators.

Is there any benefit to getting a either a pro controller or the 8bit controller for PC emulator play?
I was only addressing the emulators that person mentioned, as we are discussing only a particular subset of software, i.e., "yuzu and stuff". For those dedicated types of apps, native Switch controllers work really great but they cost more. I gifted my Switch 1 to our doorman and bought Switch 2 and now I use Pro Controller 1 and Pro Controller for Switch 2 with the new console. In order to not to pair and repair any of the Pro Controllers with Switch 2 vs PC, I bought a cheaper 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wireless Controller for Windows PC https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DB4LXDP7 and that's what I now use with "yuzu and stuff".

I go back and forth whether this is worth the price if the S1 Pro controller is working just fine. I'd pay the $10 MSRP difference for it no problem, but a used S1 controller is worth $20 and this isn't $55+tax better.

If you're not using this for the switch 2, I strongly urge you to look at 3rd party controllers. For less than the price of this, you can find a game pad 4 back buttons, additional shoulder buttons, hall effect or TMR sticks and triggers, turbo, etc.
I'm mostly concerned with haptics and vibrations... true vibrations, as they were intended to be felt in games, can only really be felt on the stock controller. i have tried many Xbox, PlayStation and switch 3rd party controllers and none of them have the same quality motor as the stock dedicated controller.

to be clear, there is not a single 3rd party switch controller with HD rumble... and there isn't a single Xbox 3rd party with Xbox impulse triggers + advanced rumble (some have one, none have both). also mostly true for ps5 DualSense, but i think there are 1 or 2 out there with adaptive triggers + haptics.

for this reason, i stick to oem controllers, using each for whatever the game was made for.
the question im asking - how does the switch 2 pro controller work with yuzu? does it run on the same system as the original hd rumble, but feel better? is it compatible with the switch 1 hd rumble when the game is emulated...

does the S2 pro controller need to be emulated as a switch 1 controller to work with switch 1 games on pc?

I was referring to those emulators as well as it relates to what is the best controller to use to allow gyroscope use in specific shrines.

I thought tariff is punishing the country who produced the product, seems American are paying the price! Go MAGA!
I know it's crazy with these huge tariffs on every single country that there's no inflation.

The knock offs are not even close to the legit thing, even if close reliability is out the window. The pro controllers are very nice, still a rip off price.
