Just a heads up. I got one earlier this month and noticed it's a very noisy drive. Otherwise it works great. Good per TB value

I passed the past couple of times this has come up, but decided to go for it this time. Be sure to get the additional 10% off for signing up for emails, as well.

Seagate or not, whichever brand you buy, 3-2-1 is a good practice.

Great price and yes, that's a lot of data for the average user, but just enough to get you to become a data hoarder.
Is this 26TB going to be used for offsite backup? Or used to capture running weekly snapshots? Or part of a mirrored array?

Great price and yes, that's a lot of data for the average

Cue the "Seagate Sucks! Only Western Digital!" crowd.

It's a tossup between Barracuda and Exos. Most batches seem to be Cudas, but you'd have to purchase + shuck it yourself to find out. There's no good indication based on serial number unfortunately.

Disable pop-up blockers; you should see a pop-up on the Seagate site for it.

In for 2, probably last drives I'll ever purchase in my lifetime..52TB, wow...I worked for Seagate repair facility in Boca Raton back in the late 80's. 20mb hardrives were 5.25", yes 20mb, and a big deal...the 40mb 3.5" hard drives were just coming out at the time, sold for hundreds of dollars. It's amazing the technology development...

Would this be safe to store movies running on an nvidia shield plex server?
