The creamy chocolate 10 lb bag of NOW Foods whey protein powder is back - albiet this time it's the whey concentrate, not isolate.

$76.05 with Subscribe and Save ($80.27 w/ 5% S&S)
or $84.50 one-time sale price.
Sweetened with stevia and xylitol. No sucralose.

NOW Foods is an American company headquartered in Illinois and I believe they source their dairy/whey from Wisconsin cows.

This is my first deal post (I think) so tell me what to edit or if this post shouldn't be here! I don't think it's a repeat.

Thanks OP! Showing $80.27 for me, I dropped Prime and don't have any S&S items so I don't get any % off for S&S.

great deal in this current environment. I typically stock up when prices are low (<$5 / lb) but I haven't seen a deal like that in almost a year and supplies are dwindling.

Serving size 42g
Protein is 24g/serving on a 42g serving. (or 44g serving from description, not picture)

That's an excessive amount (43-45% by weight) of filler IMO and works out to $0.0326/g of protein.

Compare this to the recent Nutrex deal that was $0.0225/g or woot Dymatize deal at $0.0238/g and it's a 45% premium over products with significantly less filler.

No thanks.

That's not a good deal. Last week there was same brand same flavour isolate with 33gm serving size for $80.

The isolate is also 120 cals per 25g of protein

Ah those were the days. I still think better deals and there for those who are patient and stock up but many here are willing to pay so much higher (i.e., $10+/lb)

I have the isolate version of this, and it's a pretty mild chocolate flavor as far as flavored powders go. More like a very dilute chocolate milk and not "rich, creamy chocolate shake" flavored.

That said, the xylitol is unnecessary as far as I'm concerned—it doesn't really add any sweetness for me (I may just not be sensitive to how sweet it is) but it will make my stomach grumble without any other food in it. I've tried other powders that don't use xylitol (but have had all the other sweeteners) without getting the same biological response, but I've found many of those to be almost too sweet.

To be clear, I'm not a xylitol/artificial sweetener hater, I just know in this particular instance I have to be mindful of how/when I consume it for the same reason I quit chewing most sugar free gum. I currently have another brand (vanilla flavor) sweetened with stevia and monk fruit and it is maybe my favorite.

indeed. the absence of chemical sweeteners & preservatives is what sets apart truly premium protein from the trash.

Just cancelled my order. It was only going to ship in 2-3 weeks.
Also don't love the chemicals in it that aren't needed

42g serving for 25g of protein is insane. You're paying for a lot of filler.
