Yes WD40 the brand makes lots of products. But original WD40 the product is a degreaser / solvent. If you don't believe me go right ahead. Not my garage door.

White lithium grease is a thick, long-lasting lubricant that excels at reducing friction on metal-to-metal contact points. It can be a better choice for heavier doors or older doors that experience more wear and tear. However, it can be messier and may attract more dirt than silicone.

Seems like may need White lithium grease for metal-to-metal contact points and silicone for the rest....

I hope you are not talking about the original WD-40 formula (Multi-Use Product). WD-40 is a water-displacing, lightweight short-term, lubricant, with solvents for cleaning with corrosion protection. It evaporates over time leaving a sticky residue that attracts dust and dirt. In other words, a real mess.

This Blaster product is specifically formulated for the harsh environment of the typical garage. WD-40 Specialist Silicone quick drying is a more comparable product. I have used WD-40 Specialist Silicone for my garage doors, but this Blaster product is far superior for this specific use case.

WD-40 (original) is not a panacea lubricant. Yet people continue to use W-40 for everything outside its use case with predictable sub-par results. Use the right product for the right job.

my understanding is you are supposed to used Silicone sprays like this for the rails that the wheels ride in, and you're supposed to use white lithium grease spray for the wheels/rollers themselves. is this correct?
