types are mostly due to what type of collagen source is used. this stuff is bovine, which is what you will want for the majority of people. the extra types are usually from adding fish or egg sources. they have their uses but for most of the effects of collagen bovine 1 and 3 is mainly what you need.

If you are taking it for joint pain, you want type II.

Chicken collagen or more expensively, undenatured Type II collagen which is more expensive but effective at like 40mg a day so much lower doses

Got before, but it actually had taste that negatively affected my coffee. Can't do it again. Maybe good for others.

According to GoodRX:
Type I makes up the majority of the body's collagen. It's found in skin, bones, teeth, tendons, and ligaments. If your main concern is bone or skin health, Type I may be the most effective option.
Type II collagen is usually found in cartilage, so it may benefit joint health.
Type III collagen is found in your skin, arteries, and lungs. It may support the production of Type I collagen.

I've been taking the powders for joint pain, not realizing they were the wrong type. I plan to keep using it, but ordered some Type II capsules off Amazon.
