I wouldn't buy anything from midea again. After their recent air conditioner recall they have been dragging their feet approving the submissions and forcing people to hold on to useless air conditioners. Hopefully the government smacks them with a big fat fine

It's just about a drain plug, and it was not just midway. Different brands as well.

I got my first of 3 refunds within 3 weeks of submitting the photo. 1 unit I have to send in and am awaiting the return packaging. I was also able to clean and keep the old units.

Good luck with that. They make most of the AC units for other brands. Better invest in a central AC if you want to not have a Midea AC

I thought they make you cut the cord -- how did you manage keeping the other 2?

I'm surprised that there hasn't been a comment about this being a single hose unit yet...

We have 4x of the Midea dual hose portable A/C units (the one where it's a "single" large combined intake/exhaust hose) and they've gotten us through 3 summer so far in an older house with ancient single-pane casement windows. They keep about 80% of a double brick, leaky house comfortable despite the 90-100+ degree weather.

The thing is I bought them all on sale between $200-300, some refurb and two of them under different brand names (Danby and Toshiba). They're 12k+ BTU SACC. $300 for a single hose unit sounds hella expensive.

Sorry to hear that. I got approval 3 working days after submitting the photos. We'll see how long before we actually get the checks.

Is this dual hose and does it have a drain? Can't seem to find the manual for it.

Just bought a new one, they just replaced a plug so it can shed water. Best AC I've ever had.
