I'm not a tradesperson, but for home use, I've been perfectly happy with the Craftsman stuff
60V Cub Cadet uses the exact same battery except the key is on the other side. Cut the key nub or swap your old battery top shell and it will fit/work.

Yeah, the mower is still fine. The battery died and there are no replacements. Sucks! But I suspect they learned their lesson and are sticking to a standard now.
p.s. There's a Ridgid to Craftsman adaptor on Amazon for around $20, which I'm soon to add to my collection.
p.s. You can probably get a Dewalt to Craftman adaptor on eBay or Amazon. I have a Ridgid to Ryobi and it works just fine. Will likely get a Ridgid to Craftsman soon as well.

They launched this V20 line about 6 years ago and most of the tools then were based off the old designs of the DeWalt and Porter-Cable counterparts, just in Red with V20 battery mounts.
Meanwhile, their competitors (Ryobi, DeWalt, Ridgid. Metabo, Skil even Harbor Freight) have all consistently upgraded their tools to make them better, smaller, more powerful etc. Ditto with all the improving battery technology since 2018.
Craftsman doesn't do that. These are all dinosaur tools.
