I'm never buying a craftsman battery device again after my 60V lawnmower battery died and they just completely dropped the entire product line. Lawnmower was bricked after 3 yrs.

I'm not a tradesperson, but for home use, I've been perfectly happy with the Craftsman stuff

I've got a lot of the v20 line now and it's good stuff. I have no complaints.

60V Cub Cadet uses the exact same battery except the key is on the other side. Cut the key nub or swap your old battery top shell and it will fit/work.

Are any of the tools Craftsman R+P line? That misting fan seems like a good deal, especially compared to the DeWALT version that lacks the misting feature.

For the price I've always only bought the tools with these battery deals here or Lowe's.

$65 for a tool and a 2ah battery, times 2, seems like a decent deal. In a way, I wish I didn't go with Dewalt every time I see cool deals and tools by Craftsman and Ryobi.

I ran into the same issue and they - believe it or not - gave me a new mower. I still have the old one. Occasionally, I think about trying to hack the battery but that's above my pay grade. Maybe ChatGPT could help?

Yeah, the mower is still fine. The battery died and there are no replacements. Sucks! But I suspect they learned their lesson and are sticking to a standard now.

p.s. There's a Ridgid to Craftsman adaptor on Amazon for around $20, which I'm soon to add to my collection.

My sense is, Dewalt is semi-pro while Craftsman and Ryobi are more home DIY. I have mostly Ridgid but do have some Craftsman and Ryobi. The latter two are good - especially since I get the type of tools I use less often, which saves some $ - but not as heavy-duty as the Ridgid. In my mind, Dewalt and Ridgid are comparable.

p.s. You can probably get a Dewalt to Craftman adaptor on eBay or Amazon. I have a Ridgid to Ryobi and it works just fine. Will likely get a Ridgid to Craftsman soon as well.

For home use, Craftsman makes good products, and I am happy with my decision to get into the line over the past couple of years. I had originally got into the Kobalt 40v line, but the cost of their batteries is ridiculous and there are no alternates, while the Craftsman batteries run occasional sales and have available aftermarkets over on the 'Zon. I still use my Kobalt blower, as I haven't found a v20 Craftsman that can beat it. My v20 mower isn't the greatest, but my lawn is smallish and doesn't have to be, either, and I beat it up on tree roots. I might buy into this just for the Oscillating multitool and this charger. Might get another inflator, too. The clip on chargers are a little light and baseless for my taste, but still work well.

Can't order, it said unable to process, but the credit card was charged and refunded. Trying a different credit is the same thing.

Not worth getting into Craftsman right now. Craftsman doesn't do much in the way of product development.
They launched this V20 line about 6 years ago and most of the tools then were based off the old designs of the DeWalt and Porter-Cable counterparts, just in Red with V20 battery mounts.

Meanwhile, their competitors (Ryobi, DeWalt, Ridgid. Metabo, Skil even Harbor Freight) have all consistently upgraded their tools to make them better, smaller, more powerful etc. Ditto with all the improving battery technology since 2018.

Craftsman doesn't do that. These are all dinosaur tools.
