Verizon will do anything but lower their prices. Their gig plan is already wildly overpriced for 2025 and every single discount they offer now is contingent on you having a cell phone plan with them too which is always in the the small print. Screw this company.

Exactly what I was thinking. I have their ONT in my apartment and would love to switch back to their service, but the price without wireless service is not worth it.

I wouldn't pay the gig price but the 300Mbps at $50/month is reasonable for fiber in my area. It's either that or pay $10 less for 400Mbps with Comcast. Never going back to Comcast after being stuck with them for many years.

Not really I pay $30 a month for 300 and $10 a month for google gemini+2tb. Even so the $10 is just extra. I will never give them $75 a month. 300 is just fine for everything I work at home and all my stuff is in the cloud. But hey keep signing up people to overpay so they can subsidize me.

Fios customer service getting worse. Just moved last month. Was paying 30$ for 300 and now they removed all my discounts, and now I'm paying 50$ for 300. I'm still in the same county! And I'm getting bombarded with sales calls to upgrade to 1gb and their add on services and mobile plans.

I was paying around 60$ for the gig plan after discounts through my employer just last year. Unfortunately my new place does not have Fios coverage so I'm stuck with xfinity paying 85$ for the same plan. And the worst part is that the xfinity upload speeds suck at 30-40 Mbps

Really made me miss my Fios connection.

While I agree that the prices are higher now ,unless there is a new player that could offer aggressive rates(Verizon did the same when they first started Fios). I don't see these rates coming down any time soon

No matter what the deal is, Verizon will end up winning. I have fallen for these multiple times and then regretted it. Avoid

I usually go back and forth between Verizon and Optimum because of price wars. At one point I ended up with both FiOS and Optimum 1gb fiber optic services at the same time. In case you're wondering, optimum fiber optic outperformed FiOS by far with consistent speeds and almost no drops in the past 18 months (please note: apparently this is not typical for my area, but then again I bridged the service modems and used my own Asus wireless router). I dropped FiOS after the 180 day promo period, but not before they gave me an Xbox, $400 in gift cards and 2 free months of Internet. I also got a promo with optimum and ended up paying $40/month for one year and now pay only $60/month all in for fiber optic from optimum.

I doesn't hurt to call and find out what options they have available. When I cancelled with one, the other service would call back the next day with new rewards. I just kept going back and forth to see how far I could go
