Or….
You use this 1-2 a week on average. So 6 times a month… so after only a month it's $1.66 per use. Sure you can wrap a pan in foil or similar but what's time and effort worth?
My griddle is not close to my kitchen and all my gear is out next to it. Pain in the arse lugging a foil covered frypan along with all the other stuff I'm bringing out to the grill. All my cooking gear is in a covered tub under the blackstone, I use a standard restaurant style bin while cooking to throw all my dirty gear, paper towels, etc in. When finished cooking I bring it all inside, wash it then put it back out in the tub. Everything I need besides food is out next to my grill any time I want to cook. (And I don't waste space storing more crap inside)

After a year of use the "price per use" has dropped to $.14 a use. Its lifespan hasn't even been dented.

So is ease of use, storage, etc worth $.14 a use? Sure is to me.
Drop one tray of meat while juggling your foil covered fry pan and you've blown $25 in meat and ruined dinner. $.14 cents would seem like a bargain as you're picking up perfectly marinated fajitas off the patio.
Don't waste your money. Cast Iron is the only way to go so you have enough weight on the food item. I butterfly and grill jumbo shrimp (4-6 count). The Cast Iron 2 1/2 lb press keeps them from curling.

Going to buy a few Blackstone accessories. Can I just use the press instead of this tool to smash my burgers? Ty tu

I'll try this next time. I used parchment paper so it won't stick.

No wonder the Chinese think Americans are the dumbest consumers in the world - they can make shit like this and sell it for $10 as a "slick" deal LOL

Why do people fall for buying this useless crap. All your doing is pressing a hunk of meat down, use your stoopid spatula.I've been cooking for parties and private events for over 25 years and have never once needed or required any "gadet" tool for any thing I have prepared.Stop spending money on stuff to do things the stuff you already have can do.Gah
Most spatulas don't have the strength to do this properly. Look up first we feast YouTube channel with George Motz. He wrote the book on the history of American hamburgers and the history of the smash burgers and he shows how it's done properly.

Gah

Here's a crazy idea - how about you worry about how you spend your own money and not how others spend theirs? Just because you don't perceive this to be a good deal doesn't mean others will or have to think the same.

And FYI, it's "you're" and "gadget".

The product in the OP isn't intended to be a weight. That's what this is for.

Came to say this. Cast iron presses are usually a little heavy which helps in smashing the burger.

Man I love that idea. I'm gonna do the same. Have all my griddle accessories in one spot and also frees up space in my cupboards. I guess I'll just wash my utensils as my grill/griddle is cooling down and throw it in a bin.

Also I agree with you. I have the cast iron press and yes I was making do with 2 spatulas and yes I could use a pan the convenience is well worth it.
Thanks
