Home Depot also has it for this price:

I picked one of these up a few weeks ago. At the time Fasteners Inc also had it for $99. I've been happy with it so far in limited use. I have a Dyson Car+Boat that is many years old and on it's second battery. So far I'm happier switching the batteries rather than having to bring the vacuum back to a docking station to charge. It is also nice not having to worry about running out of juice mid-cleaning, something that wasn't uncommon with the Dyson, especially if I forgot to put it back on the charger.

Overall I'd say this is a good deal if you're in the DeWALT ecosystem. The accessories are decent but the container volume is pretty small so keep that in mind. Lastly, if you factor in the likelihood of seeing this price in the future as part of your decision to buy, I'd rate this a 4 out of 10 on an urgency scale. That's based on at least three different retailers offering this price in the past month or so.
Best vac Dewalt has made.

I have it and feel it's ok. If you're in Dewalt 20v, it's not bad. Obviously a battery that can supply more current makes a difference. I've also read, but not yet experienced, that the heap filter clogs easily. That's remedied by putting some nylon mesh over it.

It's versatile and works well as a battery powered vac.

I used pool socks as my pre filter. Someone made a 3d printed filter for the vac.

How does this do with cleaning car interiors?
If you have dog or cat hair in your car, it won't work all that great. It's a good vacuum for cleaning cars if you clean your interior frequently. If you have pets that ride in your car, stick to a full sized shop vaccum.

With no battery and charger included, which of both do you recommend? I'm not in the Dewalt ecosystem.

This is a good vacuum for hardwood floors or tiles. this vacuum doesn't have rollers like most pet vacuums do to pick up hair stuck on carpet.

Works well enough for me. Print PETG can be a little bit tricky

How many grams is your 3d printed pre filter? Since my local library charges $.15 cents per grams to print. Thx

I personally love this little vacuum. Well designed, sucks well and doesn't suck battery too bad.

Purchased this yesterday from Home Depot and the flexible hose does not fit onto the unit whatsoever. I tried stretching the plastic on the hose itself, and there is no possible way that this can fit on it. I measured the openings, and the opening on the hose itself is smaller than the opening on the vacuum. I'm not sure if this was an open box (which doesn't make sense), or if it shrunk due to heat from sitting outside on a pallet (which doesn't make much sense either). I tried for around 30 minutes to try and fit it on there through different methods, but ultimately it's impossible. I watched a few videos online and the opening on their hose is larger than on mine, but it is the same style - has the arrows showing to turn to lock, etc. Very, very odd. I'll be returning it. The vacuum itself is okay, certainly not comparable to a shop vac (and I did not expect it to be - for clarity), and is loud (in my opinion). The light is decent, the design is simple and great, and it would probably be good for cleaning cars and around your work space which I'm assuming are the intended uses. Either QC issue, or something happened at Home Depot.

TIL 'air watt'.

From wiki: "Airwatt or air watt is a unit of measurement that represents the true suction power of vacuum cleaners. It is calculated by multiplying the airflow by the suction pressure."

That should work. Follow directions in "Thing detail".

After you print both, use the template to cut stainless steel mesh, put the mesh in, and install the inner retention bracket.

I wash the oem filter all the time. I would normally shake off the dust by hitting it against something and then wash it off with a garden hose and leave in the sun to dry

I have done the same aside from hosing it off. Nice to know it can take it. Thanks for the tip.
