Does anyone know if there's any way to make these work without the base kit? Like would some generic AC adapter with the right size port make it work?

So if this doesn't come with the base kit and cord and stand that goes with it then wouldn't the amazon deal on the hue store for a complete two set with base kit for $80 in very good condition be a better deal then just one light for $40 + ac adapter for $20 = $60

What am I missing, new to these???

Used/refurb vs new, but if you're happy with 2nd hand gear, that's not a bad deal.

Amazon is also an authorized reseller for signify (phillip's lighting division), not sure if that extends to woot (subsidiary of amazon) but if it does, you'd also get a 3 year warranty. I'd double check the used gear to see if they offer something similar.

I'd like to add I bought 3 for 99.99 at costco in 2024. Came with power adapter for 3. They didn't have the deal this last Black Friday like years before. May be worth it to wait unless this is a newer version and/or the new price?
I've accumulated quite a few due to the 3 pack deal

There are two mounts in the box.

Kits that come with power adapter have three inputs so some of us have more power adapter inputs than light bars. These are great for us.

If you don't have a power plug already not completely filled this probably isn't a good kit for you.
