The design is actually pretty smart for indoor grilling. The lid is perforated to allow steam to escape, but it should catch most of the splatters. Allowing the steam to escape means your food will grill instead of steam. Cleanup should be as easy as wiping with a paper towel, and the lid is dishwasher safe as well. I would handwash the griddle since it's non-stick.

Seems lot of reviews say smoke alarm gets kicked off due to smoke, so what's thr work around ? Use on porch or deck?

It shouldn't, I have blackstone e-series and the smoke is just steam unless it's burning

I am not owning this or am biased against ninja. I have a few ninja products.

I read multiple reviews saying on walmsrt this produces a lot of smoke.

Your initial question asked for a workaround, you can cover your smoke detector with a bag while cooking if it smokes. That or avoid it entirely and not buy it Smilie
