It blows my mind that my 24 year old ps2 dualshock controller has never had drift.. and I'm sure I haven't always treated it kindly storing it over the years. But my joycons, pro controller, and ps4 and ps5 controllers have had drift issues which required teardowns or just outright replacements. Maybe deadzones weren't as fine tuned.

get official controllers they are worth it. these shits break down in a couple months
I've also had decent luck with the cheap pro controller knock-offs. You can tell theyre knock-offs but they definitely last longer than the PowerA controllers.

Yah, they want you to just keep buying rather than one time purchase. I am hundred percent sure they do it intentionally.
