This is a great sander. The turbo mode will seriously remove material fast and can be used like a belt sander. Can't speak to the router bits but if you're in the market for a versatile and pro quality sander this is the one.

Standard price for this sander is about $290 with $279 being recent.

The router bits hover between $115 and $140. The "list price" for the bits is an absolute lies.

For both, this is a good deal.

Edit: Reread the post and edited my comment about list prices. The $660 blew me away.

Yep, these are super aggressive on turbo mode - comparable to Festool's coveted Rotex sanders at a fraction of the price. Got mine when it was $209 back in July, but I'd buy at this price if I didn't already have one.

Pretty good sander. Seems to be better than my dewalt 20v orbital sander but don't have experience with nice sanders

Bought this during July Prime deals for 209

This is a completely different class than a 5" sander.

Bought this sander a few months ago. If I didn't own it already, I'd buy it again. It works great for large jobs as it's 4x the speed of my old battery powered sanders. The router bits are icing on the cake. I chose this over the festool and 3m sanders for its extra power. It is not lightweight.

Which is unfortunate since you were just buffing out a scratch.

If your budget is limited, random orbital sander is the way to go, but it's not in the same class as this. Even a Bosch ROS20VSC which is a really good corded random orbital sander isn't comparable to what this thing can do. It'll really just power through material (if you need that) when paired with a backer pad, good dust extraction, and 3m xtract's mesh discs.

This one's also got a bigger orbital diameter than most if not all typical 5" random orbitals, so it's random orbit mode is more aggressive too. Variable speed control helps you rein it in a bit, if you want a little more finesse.

I own this and think it is a fantastic sander in many regards, but any great sander has its strengths and weaknesses. This thing is an absolute beast and can mow through stock quite quickly even without using turbo mode. As such, there is a learning curve to using it if you want it to function in a finish sanding capacity. Given it's size and weight distribution, it can also be unweildy and tip prone. For me it's a two hands sander at all times and can quickly gouge softer woods if not careful. It's even more challenging on vertical surfaces. As the previous commenter stated, it's Bosch's version of the rotex RO-150. You should pretty much always be able to get it for under 300. If I'm not mistaken, it may be a bit more in other markets where it comes in a systainer kit. It also goes without saying that these types of sanders are only worth it if you hook them up to some sort of dust extraction... Even if it's just adapted to use with your shop vac (I know... Not ideal).

If I'm looking for a sander to shape or remove stock, remove paint, etc... Especially for larger surfaces... This is what I would go with short of going nuts with some kind of drum sander.

Does yours vibrate like crazy? My hands are numb after I use mine for even short bursts, even with leather gloves on

I honestly don't even use it on turbo mode. It doesn't bother me much on regular mode, but I am by no means a power user. The mirka cv650 I have is far more user friendly, but also typically 2x+ the price and not as aggressive. I could see it being a problem with long term use though.
