Huge difference over the 5", with I'd say a 40% reduction in sanding time on a given surface. Great for larger pieces, and I keep the 5" on standby for smaller pieces / face frames, etc. Turbo mode is no joke - hold on tight. Highly recommend this to reduce the time with your hands vibrating.

I've been looking for a deal on this for 2-3 years I would estimate. Even the used market in my area and on eBay puts these at $180-200 normally. Amped to finally give one of these a try. Plus, snagging a Prime day deal on 3m extract variety pack too!

This would work but a simple angle grinder for $50ish with a flap disk will work fine too.

Absolute beast of a sander... Very similar to the festool rotex model. You can do everything with this sander, but it won't be pleasant for so called fine woodworking. It removes stock very aggressively, is pretty heavy, and is not as well balanced as more compact sanders. Absolute steal at this price though. At this price, you might as well get this and then another sander that isn't quite as aggressive if you need it down the line.
