The only concern is the 2A battery may not be able to finish the work even my yard is pretty small.

So, this is their pretty basic model, not self propelled and only a single battery port. I'm willing to bet run time is about on par with how long it takes to recharge a battery. So if you start with two fully charged batteries, pop the first dead one on the charger at swap, and it "should" be ready to go when the second one dies. That said, it is an interruption, and you have to stay on top of charging. Lots of extra charge cycles per use this way.

I'd wait for a better deal on a self propelled model personally, I feel like we've seen them around this price in the past with better batteries and sometimes the dual charger.

Note - I own many green works 80v tools and two of their dual battery self propelled mowers. Great units that have lasted for years, and have gas like tool performance. I've only had one battery of the 6 I own die about 3 years after purchasing, and they replaced it after a call and providing serial info. Great products, but customer service call support times can be abismal (be prepared to wait an hour+ for a service agent).

one additional edit - green works has been the OEM for kobalt 80v tools for quite a few years. you can modify either the battery or the tool slot to fit both, as it's only a physical restriction on inserting one brands battery into the other (they slightly move the positioning of one of the rails). I have a kobalt 80v trimmer that I used a dremel on and shaved one set of rails down to fit. Battery warranty is usually longer than the tool, so I'd rather modify the tool itself.

I've had basically the same mower for 6 or 7 years. The mower has two speeds it switches between automatically. If you mow regularly it typically stays on low and will give you the 40 minute run time they claim. On high you will chew through both the grass and the battery at a pretty rapid clip.

I wouldn't call those batteries worthless. 2ah batteries are smaller and balance better on the likes for the string trimmer or blower. Even the chainsaw gets hard to use after a while using the 5 or 6ah battery.

The price has remained the same for the past two months. I see it was at about $310 just a few weeks ago.

I got the self-propelled version for $398 over the Labor Day holiday. btw, i believe the same mower is available at greenworks.com. there is a 10% coupon you can stack on top

2.0ah for the 80v you'll def be swapping those out pretty quickly if you have anything bigger than a city neighborhood size lawn. I have a 40v with 4ah battery and it sucks about half that battery for my tiny lawn but I love it. Def one of my greatest Marketplace finds

I had this model about 5 years ago and upgraded to the Costco dual battery SP about 2 years ago. To me, the newer "Costco" model is worth the price. Mine came with 2X 4Ah batteries, but I think the current package is 1X 4 Ah and 1X 2.0Ah battery. I've had 3 of the 2 Ah batteries go bad, they don't hold up well in a high amp draw tool like the SP mowers. The newer models also have a "turbo" switch to manually increse RPM. The older models rely on a higher load to switch to a higher RPM automatically. I prefer the user controlled option.

This is an obsolete model, I expect it will be priced lower soon to move out the old inventory.

Since you've own many Greenworks products.
So I have a .41 acres piece of flat land and I bought the walmart special GW 60v 2x 5ah(270wh per battery) with dual razor blade. Advertised as up to 80 mins and 1 acres.
I thought this would be perfect for me as I only have .41 acres
The first time I used it, 100% self propelled and it cut maybe 1/4 of the .41 acres before it died. That's like 4500 sqft.
I said, must be something wrong.
Tried 2nd time and I got little better but not much.
3rd try, I did 1/2 pushing and 1/2 SP and I got like half of my .41 acres.
Pretty much GW greatly overstated their cutting runtimes.
Even if I push the entire time, I still wouldn't able to cut my .41 acres when this is advertised at 1 acres.
I'm 99.9% sure this is going back to Walmart.

My question for you is that is GW runtimes really this bad or this is usual ??
Heard a lot of good things about GW so I was excited to get one.
How's your experiences ? And what version do you have ?

I cut about .45 acre total with my 80v 25 inch dual blade self propelled model (can take 2 batteries). I have two 4 Ah batteries and they last the entire cut. I don't cut on turbo mode, and I usually go maybe 35% speed on the self propelled slider, and put very little effort into helping it along if any. My lawn is mostly flat. I'd say the first battery is completely drained, and the second is usually half or 2/3 drained, don't think I've ever run out completely. I usually cut every 10-14 days depending on rain/growth.

I do feel like GW (and many other electric tools companies) estimates their time based on lowest settings/optimal conditions on completely optimal batteries.

I can't say much beyond that, except that I went with 80v from the get go after advice from a friend when first purchasing years back. That'd be my only note going forward for ya based on your experience so far.

I have their 80v in the following: pole saw, chain saw, trimmer, edger, and blower. I have a few 2ah batteries I use with each of them and they all work well, with the exception of the blower (it'll eat through the small battery quick at higher settings). Much like you, my yard isn't too big, so most of my tool use is 10-15 minutes every other week beyond the lawn mower.

I think GW estimates their cutting ability by assuming you cut your grass daily and only shave a few mm off each blade. We have about 0.3ac of flat and I always need two 4Ah batteries
