Just a heads-up. Go to Aliexpress, and search for 5700x3D from the seller with the lowest prices—they sell tray CPUs instead of Box CPUs. $144 - $25 (Code UFDTECH25) = So much cheaper and better performance in games. Also, searching for some cash back site might be cheaper.
The only downvote would be the CPUs shipped from China, which will take 14 days or more. Pretty much no warranty even though it is NEW.

I was thinking about replacing my intel CPU with AMDs and this would be perfect. Now I just gotta buy a new motherboard and learn how to swap out.. this should be fun 😊

Can you elaborate on tray vs box? Sounds just like a packaging difference?

Yup, that it right.

Tray - it is like how OEM (Dell, HP, Lenovo) only gets their CPU in large batch quantities from AMD the manufacturer at a large discount price, and OEM builds the PC and sells it to customers with them being the warranty. So, if something goes wrong it is up to the OEM to handle it and report to AMD for repair.

Box - what you find in the department/electronic store shipped and sold by MIcrocenter, Amazon, Newegg, and Walmart. Buyers can report the warranty directly to AMD.

That is why I mentioned it is a new tray CPU with no warranty because it shipped from China. But, how often does the CPU fail when it is proven how reliable the Ryzen AM4 platform it.
Considering most people just want to upgrade the CPU as cheaply as possible. Even buying used AM4 CPUs from eBay or Facebook Marketplace and so on.

Read the review from the past buyer, If it is used there will be some thermal residue or scratch on the CPU when mounting it to the socket. Maybe their a software function that shows how long the CPU has been used.

Yes, AMD has recently released some new 5000 series CPUs (with XT in the name) for AM4, but they are more or less the same (Zen 3 based).

Got an 5700X3D off Amazon for about $200. If you're primarily gaming, it has essentially same performance in games as the 9600X, with both CPUs released this year.

Cheap upgrade without going to AM5.
