While this is a good router, this price is too much for a 4 year old model that doesn't have 6E or 2.5G ethernet.

I would pick up one of the warehouse open box ones for under $75 or wait on a deal to get one with newer chipsets and standards for around this price or just a tad more.
Do you have any issues with that router/wifi in the house? Yes do it.
Do you have any/many Wifi 6 devices? Maybe.
Do you have or plan to have any/many Wifi 7 devices? Wait for 7 routers to go main stream.

Or you want to splurge a bit more I hear good thing about ASUS RT-AX86U. Especially if you have -over- 1Gbps internet speed or do a lot of NAS stuff with its 2.5G ethernet.

Alternatively if you have a best buy you can recycle an old networking device for 15% off either of those models for even cheaper than Amazon.

This should be $60 if it's going on sale. This is 5 yr old tech.

Can you give some example models for those $75 open box items? I am in the market for one but don't have much idea about these.

Does this router allow you to control remotely which devices have access to your WiFi?

I would like to know too, thanks,
I found a comparison on the Asus site.

https://www.asus.com/us/product-c...ers-WiFi-6

I also found a Reddit discussion. What I gathered is that the AX3000 has twice the RAM, but the AX57 has a more powerful CPU. The poster said that more RAM would be better if you're connecting more devices, but a better CPU is better if you're running a VPN. However, the AX3000 has newer firmware.

My use case is connecting it as an AIMesh node to improve coverage in the basement and maybe take a few devices upstairs off of the AX88u Pro, so I don't know if it'd make a ton of difference.

What do you mean control remotely? Like with an app? There is an app and it does have a devices list and it does appear you can easily turn their access on/off pretty easy. Source: me. I have this router and the app. I've ever used this feature though.

For upgrading, Is Mesh WiFi 6 System better than a central WiFi 6 router for gaming if the coverage is not an issue?

I have the ROG GS-AX5400 but this router would often disconnect and reconnect. Any issues with disconnects on the RT-AX3000 to worry about?

I'm pretty sure they meant the "used" stock of this model. Prices at like $70 instead of $115 new

Even if you you're fine with an old AX3000, there are still better deals to be had — including ones posted on here every month or two. That holds even if you're a hardcore "ASUS or nothing because TP-Link is trash" person.

Hard pass.

Any reason to get something like this over an Unifi LR Wi-Fi 6 AP? And use a microtik for router or a different router? Just want the best wireless connection. Currently have the Unifi. 120+ devices. Works but some corners of my house have issues.
Best wireless connection speed wise or coverage? I find it best to use multiple smaller AP's transmitting at low to medium power to get consistent coverage without cannibalizing the transmission of the other AP's on your mesh. Makes hand off smoother and less likely to constantly switch. There are some tweaks you can do in the settings to keep the hand off being so erratic in Unifi.

Yeah, but it depends on your specific situation if it's worth upgrading. For most people I would argue it's not worth it.

Luckily you have a few choices:
1) change your "ME" centric value system and realize a deal for you may not look the same as a deal for someone else.

2) go to the next best deal site and leave this one behind

3) make this site better, get involved, become a mod, post better deals

4) sit in you chair, complain, take no action, make this site even worse via your negative and unhelpful comments that provide zero justification for why you feel the way you do.

5) call people out who are being a total bummer LOL.

It's starts by observation..then calling out to Garner feedback, and there are still good deals, but these "no-deals" aren't more common (hecks there's always been horrible deals here), is their upvotes which is more than usual..I do try try to post deals, and if I could become a mod, id love to. A router pushing 5 years old getting this popular makes no sense..

Maybe SD simply has had a sudden uptick of new inexperienced members
