Probably not at this point. There may be some benefits but you could easily turn your single unit into a mesh network and achieve more for less

Walamrt pictures show 1x 2.5gbps internet and 1x 2.5gbps lan, with 3x 1.gbps ports. Amazon shows all lans are 2.5gbps for the same router.

Anyone know if walmart version is the all port 2.5gbps? And maybe just old pictures?

Product specs say WAN port is 2.5, one LAN port is 2.5, and the rest are standard gigabit.

Edit: Be sure that the other link you're looking at isn't for the very similar BE550, which does have five 2.5gbps ports:

Saw this a couple of days ago. According to some reviews, this router offers mediocre range. Plus, there are very few devices that support wifi 7 these days, money would be better spent on a good wifi 6/6e router.

In fact, I'm still rocking an ASUS AC68U, there are so few devices in my home that supports wifi 6, I don't see any reasons to upgrade.

Seriously I think tackling congestion is a bigger issue for most households than having wifi 6 or more. So few households do file transfer internally over lan.

Dong Knows Tech says all ports are 2.5g despite labelling. I purchased this model and checked myself and yes they are all 2.5g now. They may get flashed later but right now identical to Amazon version for 50 less. No range issues for me and wifi 7 rocks.

The biggest selling point isn't the WiFi7. That's just a nice plus to justify the price.

The real sought after feature here are the 2.5Gb ports.

As someone who's been in the market for a 2.5Gb router that isn't straddled to bare minimum WiFi 6 and costs under $300, I can tell you that options are very limited.

In fact, the only way you can do 2.5Gb for under $200 right now is if you roll your own or if you can get by with some of the no-name managed switches on Amazon/AliExpress.

Curious how well 2 of these would work as a mesh system with a wired backhaul. Specs says it can be used as a Mesh system. 2 of these would be much cheaper than flagship Mesh systems from Orbi, ASUS, etc

In theory, i would think two of these could easily replace a hub and +3 satellites, which is what i currently use

My thoughts exactly… tempted because, not so much for the WiFi 7, but for the 2.5gb ports. The WiFi 7 adoption is still a ways away… the ports however…

I'll have to research some reviews regarding using this as a Mesh system. Also, if the WiFi 6e coverage is good. This would be a awesome to buy 2 of these as a Mesh if everything works good.

I suppose the router needs to support some sort of mesh system, right

I would focus less on the 7 part..My 6E router only supports a few devices in my house..To be fair, i have less that support 2.5 wired

the upgrade with 7, is that the 6E that I currently use gets stronger therefore the 6E backhaul i use on a few of my nodes gets stronger..
