Looks good except for the PCIe 3.0 SSD. Why would a 13th Gen CPU be using PCIe 3.0 bus for SSD?

Got Creator Q, i9, 16gb, 1TB, RTX 3050 QHD+ 120HZ OLED for less not that long ago. Open box, but new was around this price IIRC. This is just a decent deal, not bad, but not the best.

I've been keeping an eye on the i7 and i9 version of this laptop for the past 2 months. Purchased the i7 back in November and still in the sealed box as I'm on the fence. I've never seen the i9 lower than $900 even in Used-Excellent since I've been monitoring it.

Are you sure about getting one for under $750? What date did you get it?

I'd think if it was ever that price even Dr.Wajahat would be on top of it and post it up. He's always on the ball with Bestbuy laptop deals including the open box ones Applause

EDIT: Sorry I did find a post by Dr. Wajahat with the deal:

I guess limited availability. And deal ended just before I started laptop shopping in mid October.

That has never been around this price for new. The lowest it was, was for $899 and $949 and $999 before that.
Only the open box was at this price or lower.

Indeed, I've been following these two models ever since they got listed at BB, like you mentioned with that link that it was an open box of i9 model around this price. New has never been below $899. 😊

I purchased the Q530 (the i7 version) the last time it was this price back in mid November 10-12th. Still new in the box because I'm still looking for better deals.

Don't think I'll see a better deal like the i9 Used Excellent for750----30-40.78 $662 again. Plus I already locked in 4% CB, 5% CB with Chase Freedom 5%, 10% CB Chase Rewards, and 0% APR for 18mo. For $629 before tax.

I don't think I"ll find another better deal before the return period on my Q530 purchased ends. I think with the Chase perks I still got an excellent deal on a 13th gen i7 with a decent GPU, good screen and upgradeable RAM.

But your deal monitoring on these laptops is giving me FOMO and buyers remorse since you are so good at keeping tabs. Thank you. I'm recommending your deals to more friends who aren't addicted to Slickdeals like I am =)

I am assuming you are correct regarding the retail price. I snagged one for $661 last time around and its a great laptop. There are some major differences between this one and the i9 version, most importantly being the FHD OLED here and the 2880x1620 OLED on the i9. At 15.6" the extra pixels are definitely appreciated. Obviously that laptop is much higher priced at this moment, but I would expect it to drop again at some point soon.

Agree, I don't mind to have a i7 but i7 plus downgraded screen for only 100-150 less is not a good deal...

Looking at both of these in store, you can tell a difference between the resolutions. The 1080p is grainy to me. I'd go for the i9 for that reason alone, but the i7 isn't a terrible deal.

The 60hz bothers me more than the 1080p.

I had bought mine for $750 during Black Friday, for the sole reason for video editing, which this is billed as one for. I'm just a family video editor, not a social media guy. I use PowerDirector. While everything runs faster, I ran into times when viewing video files in PD's media room, to select footage for a montage video, those videos were frozen. I could hear sound, but the video was frozen. My current 6yr old Asus laptop, 8gb RAM, I5, never saw any frozen video, much slower than this Creator Asus of course, but no frozen video. Also, a bit on the heavy side, heavier than my current Asus, same size. Battery maybe lasts up to 4-5 hours at most, didn't officially time it, kinda estimating based on 50% usage. Everything else worked very well, quietly, smoothly. I just returned mine.

Whether $750 or $799, it seems like a very good deal for these specs. Prior to even the summer of 2023, it seemed like I would see these specs at or above $1,000. So perhaps computer prices are coming back down. Most of the higher end computers have the RTX 4050 video card. I dunno, maybe I got a bad one. I know at times, the relationship between motherboard and components can be finicky. I thought it was a good deal, so pulled the trigger. But the video editing didn't quite work for me.

Heavy side? It's less than 4lbs. You are probably smoking crack.

Crack? Take a chill pill dude, kinder and gentler is the better path. You focus on that one small note to crack an attitude? As laptops are getting lighter, even my old old Asus is only 3.5 pounds, it's a fair comment in these modern times. Keep things in bigger scope.
