I would recommend actually seeing this thing in person (Microcenter has it on display) before purchasing to see for yourself.
I ended up going with the 38" alienware ultrawide for $800 (~$400 after discounts and promotions) and it suits my needs perfectly.
Edit: forgot to mention that the curve on this thing is massive. It really messed with my peripheral (pun intended) vision
Edit 2: added photo for reference.

Pre-order price was $1999 - 500 Samsung Credit(issued separately and can't be used on the G9)

This is the second one I've had - the first had a power supply that died within 12 hours, and I spent many, many hours on the phone with Samsung tech support failing to get it replaced, and them straight up ignoring what I said ("Would you like a refund or a refurb?" "I want a new one, but I'll settle for a refurb" "Great, I've just kicked off the refund process" "No, I want a refurb" "OK, we'll do that" Next day email comes in: "please package up your monitor in preparation for a refund"). I'm never buying a Samsung product again.
The monitor itself is very nice. Huge, yes. Low PPI, but I can deal with that. But wow, the firmware is.. not great. If my computer goes to sleep and wakes back up, I cannot pick the max resolution without rebooting my computer (known issue, I'm not the only one). It's... bad. I've had the video futz out on me a number of times. Turned it back off and on to get it going again.
The back panel is also flimsy as hell. I removed it once or twice on the first monitor (where the InfinityCore lighting didn't work at all before the power supply died), and the clips were already falling off. Oh, and I hope you diidn't want USB-C or Thunderbolt. I connected the "hub"/"KVM" to my desktop with a USB-B -> USB-C cable. Also, there are only two USB-A ports, and one is the service port that is the only way to update firmware..
If this monitor just worked, it would be amazing (albeit huge). But beware: it's a fragile thing. I'd recommend buying through Amazon if you want to go for it, because Samsung service/support is horrendous.
(Edit: I'll also add that the curve on this is pretty strong; that you'll still want your windows centered so you're not craning your neck around - I have things like chats and music off to the side; and that this thing does get bright as hell)
