Also note that it only has a single HDMI output, which could be a limitation if you use an older AV receiver. Many UHD blu ray players have dual HDMI outputs so that you can send the full UHD HDR signal directly to the TV, and the full quality digital audio output separately to a receiver that might not be able to pass through or process the 4K HDR.
Streaming has yet to match the audio and video quality of physical media.
Video to some extent may be okay, but audio is just garbage from streaming compared to physical media.

I'm currently using the old XB1S for 4K disc watching. Does anyone know if this is worth upgrading to?

Redbox is very relevant. Huge fan of disc over digital, as my only legitimate option for "high speed" internet promotes 3MBPS..!! Not a typo there, 3MBPS Max for high speed! Satellite could be an option but couldn't deal with the lag for gaming.
Mofi LTE is the best I've found.
Back on topic, Walmart and dollar general have Redbox with good rotating titles, and not everyone is privileged to have quality internet available at a reasonable price. The 3MBPS service available is $40/mo.
