people need to stop comparing the Aeropress to an espresso machine when it creates great coffee or coffee concentrate, but not espresso.

$32 is pretty outrageous for what is essentially 3 or 4 bits of plastic but as there's nothing else like it you might as well pay up and start using the best single-cup coffeemaker out there.

Once you go Aeropress you never go back.

This is basically a take on the French-press, but unlike those devices I never end up with coffee grinds in my cup. I use both a paper filter and a Aeropress stainless steel filter I found on ebay.

so funny this low cost 30 dollar coffee maker outshines the most expensive drip coffee makers and fancy espresso machines. And the white filter pads give even less bitter taste bc they filter out.

We had one we bought back in like 2013 that lasted up until last year and the rubber finally gave out on it. Instead of buying a new plunger part I decided to buy a whole new unit. It has already started leaking while pressing. I don't think the new ones are made as well as the originals.

Used to be $30 original or $24 (20% off when using the bed bath and beyond coupons). Definitely pricier now but it's the greatest coffee maker ever created. Clean up literally takes seconds even when re-using filters. Can control temperature and brew time which you won't be able to unless dropping thousands on a commercial grade espresso machine and even then, clean up and the prep work to get everything correct takes a ton of time.

$40 original price is still a steal for something that you'd potentially use daily. I typically use mine 10+ times on weekends when I do coffee prepping for the week. I use luke warm water and let it brew for a few hours at a time. This way, you'll extracting more caffeine and flavor compared to cold brew (cold brew has a vegetable flavor btw) and extracting less acids compared to hot brew.

Another thing to note is that if you're using boiling water, it'll degrade the rubber plunger way faster than luke warm water. I've used mine multiple times a day since 2020 and it's still in great condition.

Repped, but be aware that it uses a lot of coffee grounds. Luckily it extracts well, so you don't need expensive ones.

What size grounds do you use on these? Burr or standard blade?
