We used them for diy deck storage boxes. However they are prone to rusting.

I put them on the garage fridge doors. The kids kept slamming the fridge door and it would cause the freezer door to pop open. I would come home to find frost on everything and the compressor running all day long.

Too messy and that kind of latch with drilling isn't ideal.

I use smaller/light duty version for all kinds of things. Latest use was to replace/enhance broken plastic latches on a lawnmower bagger lid.
