I've never seen one of these where the seam wasn't visible and the weight and texture weren't obviously different than normal. If only they would contract with real manufacturers, or do some kind of fair use parody. Titleast. Srixsroxon. Ballaway. Cleavebland.

I've tried this twice. Both times, the person teeing up saw the ball looked odd and picked it up. One did go ahead and hit it, but it wasnt as dramatic as you would think. The "explosion" didnt get higher than his knees, and said it was like hitting a hard clump of flour. About 1/4 of it remained and landed about 10 feet in front of the tee. There was a light mist that day, so that might of had something to do with it. These are also a no no at a lot of driving ranges.
