An Escort radar is not required. You can mount it to their big black suction cup without a radar. You'll just have the little cord dangling

Oh that's great! Amazon Q/A says otherwise. I usually put my escort away but since this will be stuck to the mount it's nice to know it'd work standalone!

Or if you have a Blendmount they sell a "kit" for like $5 so you can connect it to one of their mounts.

The camera connects to the radar detector mount itself, not the radar detector. That's why no radar detector is needed. And if you have a older detector you can just buy a short extension cable to have it reach around to the other side of the radar detector.

The "kit" is just a longer screw and hex key to connect it to their mounts. Not a quick connect but you would just unscrew the nut to take it on or off.

Yea for my r1t i plan to use a Suction mount and mirror tap since no good mirror mount afaia, my city has lots of vehicle burglary unfortunately =(

I have this and the app is useless if you have an Android. Never works. I only get it to work with my iPhone. But the picture quality is nice.
