I really don't recommend this brand. Bought them about a year ago. They had wonderful aroma but no flavor.
I definitely go through this amount in less than a year
Whole peppercorn lasts forever. Just finishing up a Costco batch from 10 years ago. It was a major global trade product in Columbus' time when transporting from south east Asia to Europe can take a year.

Amazon appears to have changed their S&S. My S&S is the 28th of each month, but this wants to deliver in two days. The same thing happened to me yesterday on a different S&S order; it won't let me accumulate give different items, but insists on shipping the initial order immediately.

Thanks for the info. I guess that's where the spice route came from.

Folks,

Yes whole peppercorns last forever. But peppers are not native to Americas. It originated in India. The spice trade dated more than a millennium before Columbus.

Edit
Just to add. Columbus found something. He insisted it was black pepper. Now it is known as allspice Or Jamaica pepper.

Like insisting Indians are the other Indians.

Absolutely not true.

Whole peppercorns are remarkably shelf stable, easily lasting 3-4 years which you should find reflected in the Best By date.
Carefully storing cool, dry, dark can last years longer, even as they age they don't "stale" but will simply temper the flavor becoming milder, but that's about it.

On the contrary, buying ground pepper can leave you with flavorless sawdust after just a few months.

The regular price for a 2lb package of the world spice brand goes for $15. Less with S&S. This is only a deal if you want to buy in a smaller batch.

Edit: nevermind, was gonna link it, but guess shrinkflatjon hit that item since I last bought it. It's now only 1.75lbs.
