Very easy. I bought one of these on November for same price. Shucked it and put in my windows machine for media for Plex. It is working great. It is a white label enterprise drive. Took the 4TB WD Blue drive I was replacing and put it in the enclosure and am using it. Everything working and everything easy. Plenty of videos on YouTube on how to shuck - make sure you find one where they don't tear up the enclosure opening it up if you want to reuse with an old drive. Good luck.
Lol legally

What he is saying is that there are no WD drives above TB that are SMR, all WD drives above 8TB are CMR.

Thanks for the info! Did you have to tape or remove the 3.3v pin on the drive?

Nope. Didn't have to alter the drive at all. Easy peasy

I guess you're doing lossless rips? My man, HEVC/.265 looks really good even with 4K and you can compress stuff down massively. I have a hard time telling the difference.

Probably the wrong place for this question. How well would this work attached to a raspberry pi as a Plex server? Plan is to transfer files from pc to this drive attached to Pi wirelessly.
