My first time posting a deal, sorry if any errors.
Been with them 6-7 years and absolutely love them. Might depend on area of service though.
Do they still have that activate within 45 days requirement?

Yes. That is a Mint not a Best Buy requirement. However, the deal is supposed to be good through 1/6/2023.
That doesn't seem true based on other people in other threads saying you could activate it whenever you want. I could be wrong though, as I only saw that comment fairly recently.

I gave up on Mint. They're good inside of major city limits, but once you go rural, they're hit or miss. But the exact same model phone with a T-Mobile SIM (Magenta) has barely any problems in the same areas. (Hot-spotting the car and streaming i-Heart, YTM, etc through the car stereo). Also had an issue with a port-in and after 30 days they cancelled everything, didnt charge me anything, but refused to issue a refund for the SIM card+ airtime since it was more than 30 days after I purchased it from BB.

Just might not be generally known but I lost internet for a while during the hurricane and used up my data.

They throttle you so hard that's its basically unusable. I think you get around maybe 12kbps of you're lucky after your data is up. I couldn't check my email much at all. Using navigation was not much of an option if you didn't download the area. Basic things like using messaging apps were pretty much unreliable (slack, discord, whatsapp). It will just fail sending or say "connecting" forever.

Just wanted to throw this out there for anyone looking to switch. Just make sure the data cap you need is sufficient or be prepared to spend $10 per gb extra or expect your phone to be useless with anything data related after.

I bought SIM card last month and activated yesterday. Can I ask them to add 3 more months by showing this?

Do they consider activation date or purchase date?

Amex also has an offer for $45 back on $90 at Mint. Different retailer so you can't stack them but just mentioning.

I've been using Mint on and off for a long time. I use Google Voice, and use Mint primarily for data. The amount of spam calls on Mint these days is atrocious. I've used red pocket, us mobile, boost mobile and visible (in addition to mint) in the last year or so, and Mint is by far the worst when it comes to spam. Data speeds are decent (as good or better than most other MVNOs).

Yes same here. I once lost a mintsim purchased at bestbuy and found it months later.

I think these sims bought from bestbuy doesn't have the 45 days must activate policy? I don't want to try and risk.

Been using Mint for over a year. So far so good. I think I got a similar deal when I started.

My kids hotspot off my phone for Pokemon Go. Usually 4GB is plenty for use, but they do offer 1GB for $10 if you use it up for the month.

Mint starting early, pulling no punches. I'll be taking advantage around late December. Still on $10/Month Unlimited Data with Boost Mobile. 3 Months for $30.

Over in the Amex deal thread people are saying you can "prepay" (essentially add $90 in credit) to your account once you have your plan set up. Purchase this from Best Buy, then add $90 in credit to your account.

Just wanted to add that I switched to Mint from Tmobile 6 months ago and have been absolutely satisfied with the service. Even better since I cut down my costs by almost 80%
