While it says shipping is free on the item, at checkout they charged $5.99 delivery fee. I was able to get around that by charging the transaction to a Target credit card. Without a Target credit card you'll need to pay a $5.99 delivery fee despite the item saying shipping is free.

Thank you OP for posting this. I was already planning on porting my paid T-Mobile number to Mint for 3 months and then turn around and port it back to T-Mobile over one of my free lines to functionally convert my paid line to a free line. Now I get a $25 Target gift card on top of that.

not free ship even though free ship is supposed to be $35+.
the computer system sees it as $45 - $25 giftcard thus only $20 net.

Does the SIM expire? Guessing not and no promo to worry about expiring. Any reason not to stock up on a bunch of these (using Google voice number)?

Also wondering how long do i need to have my number ported from mint to rejoin using a deal? Its been about 2 months and I am strongly considering switching back as my carrier sucks in my area.

According to their T&C [mintmobile.com]
Quote :
All service plans, including promotional plans and Trial Plans, must be activated within 45 days following the date of purchase. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any plan or service that is not activated within 45 days following the date of purchase.
But I also read here that purchases from some retailers didn't have the same restrictions. Not sure if it's true or if true, whether Target is one of those retailers. I have always activated within 45 days and never had any issues.

I've been with MInt since November and have had no problems with the service.

It is now owned by TMoible, so who knows what will happen going forward.

Whoops - meant to reply to you above. Generally, SIMs purchased at retail stores don't have to pay attention to the supposed 45 day requirement. I've gone nearly twice that in the past. The only concern was this was in the days before T-Mobile bought Mint, so I can't be certain that's still the case.

Just as a reminder US Mobile has a 100 day free trial (50GB data limit total over that 100 day period, NOT per month) if you port a number in.

I switched from Mint to USMobile as my annual plan was up, it works fine for me. I'll probably switch back to Mint once I'm eligible for a new customer promo after 90 days.
